SADU

SADU is a new band from Estonia with a fresh sound that blends elements of folk, pop, and world music. The band was born from a desire to create music that prioritizes courage, honesty, and vulnerability – topics that resonate and sometimes sting.

At the heart of SADU are Sandra and Sofia, who bring powerful feminine energy to the band – strength and vitality, but also softness and sensitivity. Their voices blend together with traditional instruments thereby bringing together old and new into a fresh soundscape.

Sandra Sillamaa (vocals, whistles, jew’s harp, Estonian bagpipes) is known from the Estonian power trio Trad.Attack!, which toured both at home and across 38 countries worldwide over the past 11 years.

Sofia-Liis Liiv (vocals, violin) is a rising star who has already collaborated with several well-known Estonian musicians.

The music is created in collaboration with talented songwriter-producer Fredi (Frederik Küüts) on guitar and production, and the rhythm is driven by the young and powerful drummer Robert Leht.

For Sandra and Sofia, songwriting is like therapy – a way to release the thoughts and emotions that quietly tick inside. Although SADU has only released four singles so far, their music is already being described as something fit for stadiums, with lyrics that are sharp, honest, and emotionally raw.

Their debut single “Mustrid” (“Patterns”) was about breaking old patterns.
The second single, “Nälg” (“Hunger”), encouraged listeners to admit what they truly want.
The third release, “Luukered” (“Skeletons”), deals with betrayal, cheating, and emotional hurt.
The fourth single “Igavene” (“Eternal”) explores the fleeting nature of life and the need to live the life one really desires.
